Vanessa Melendez

Vanessa is a HCPC and RCSLT registered Speech and Language Therapist who specialises in autism diagnostic work in children and young people. Vanessa has experience of working for NHS community services with children and young people in different settings such as clinics, mainstream schools, special schools and pre-school settings, and her work has included specific Speech and Language assessments and therapeutic intervention, as well as autism diagnostic assessments. Vanessa is passionate about working with autistic children, young people and their families. Vanessa has also completed post qualification training in paediatric dysphagia and has experience of working with children and young people with motor and/or sensory based dysphagia. Vanessa has experience of working with families from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and following her Speech and Language Therapy qualification, Vanessa spent time volunteering in Cambodia establishing support groups for autistic pre-school children and their families.
