Our ARFID and complex feeding difficulties parent sessions are delivered by our multi-disciplinary team including Clinical Psychologists, Dietitians and Speech and Language Therapists all with specialist ARFID training and considerable experience of working with children, families and adults with complex feeding or ARFID difficulties.
Wren Psychology is one of the UKs leading teams in ARFID working across the NHS and private sector and the team bring all their experience to this series of training sessions to provide you with all the tools you need to understand this complex presentation and move forward in a positive way.
Who is this training for:
Parents, carers or families supporting children and young people with complex feeding difficulties or ARFID presentations. The child does not need a formal diagnosis of ARFID for parents to attend these sessions.
The training is given over 5 sessions, each session is about an hour. Hand outs and resources are available for download with each session.
Session 1 – Introduction to complex feeding and ARFID and the impact of these difficulties.
Session 2 - Strategies to help part one and emotional regulation.
Session 3 – Strategies to help part two
Session 4 - Dietary intake and oral motor skills. - Delivered by one of our dietitians and speech and language therapists.
Session 5 – Strategies to help part three and maintaining progress.
We offer two formats of parent training/sessions for ARFID and complex feeding difficulties:

The first format is an ‘on-demand’ series of pre-recorded sessions which can be accessed at any time and access will last for 3 months. You can watch the sessions as many times as you like during those 3 months. Click here to access this format and for details of costs.

The second format is a series of ‘live’ virtual groups at pre-determined dates throughout the year that parents can join. The content is the same as the on-demand training but there is also an opportunity to interact with other families and parents and share experiences and tips plus opportunities to ask our experts questions throughout.
